Truthful Thursday - A mini get away

A little get away every now and again is a great way to relax and unwind and de-stress.  Since Jeff has been working so hard with the renovations project, I booked the "IGNITE THE FLAME" package at the Gold Country Casino & Resort in Oroville, Ca.  The past weekend was the President's day long weekend so we went Sunday/Monday.  It was such a great deal as it includes the room with jacuzzi, dinner for two, two for one drinks at the their lounge, and $10 free play per person on any slot machine.  Last May we went to the same hotel and we were not able to use the free game of bowling for two.  This time we tried to use it and it was still good.  We have not bowled for a very long time and it was so much fun we ended buying more games.  Although I did not win nor lose a lot, Jeff manage to win $40 on the slot and this is big for someone who does not really like gambling.  But the best deal of this weekend was the 4 course dinner.  We started with a basket of assorted bread with 3 different butter, then 6 oyster Rockefeller and Caesar salad.  A little break to cleanse the palette was an orange sorbet.  Another short wait and the main course arrived.  The fillet was so tender and the lobster was cooked to perfection.  The dessert was made by our waiter in front of us.  When he flambeed the bananas the other patrons got a little worried because of the height of the fire.  Here are the photos of our wonderful belated valentine's dinner.
Tall cracker, 2 sweet rolls, 2 butter rolls and foccatia slices
There were 6 Oyster Rockefeller ( Jeff ate one and I ate 5)
Steak and lobster, I was almost full I ended up not eating the potatoes.
The bananas were so hot, the ice cream melted quickly
On the way home, we stopped for lunch and a quick shopping at the Vacaville Outlet.  It was very busy so we ended up going only to a couple of store.  There was a great sale at Levi's but none of the jeans I wanted did not fit right.  I bought a little sport jacket (for tennis) at the Reebok Outlet as it was a good deal.  I hope my son in law is not going to read this blog.
