Mish-mash March

Today was the beginning of Daylight Saving Time - Spring Forward and I hope that everyone remembered to change their clock or clocks ( we had to changed at least 10).  It would have been 11 but my hubby broke one while changing the battery.  That particular clock has been with us since 2017 and it was inexpensive, so I was not particularly sad. Now I can buy a new one.  For this month, I called it mish mash because I will be posting some pictures of my latest creation (sewing, embroidery, baking) as well as some photos from our dining out.  It has been a very mild mid February and mid March, so I am very hopeful that our golf course will open early. This is also the month to start preparing for your taxes, just a little hint in case you have not started.  Anyway, I have a lot of photos to share so I hope that your spring has sprung.

Mini shrimp tacos (using scoops, chili lime shrimp with lettuce and sauce.

A very easy puff pastry treat using nutella and almonds.

Friendly February

What is different about this month is that there are 29 days instead of 28. Does that mean it is a lucky year? Is it lucky because it is the year of the dragon?  This month there are 3 very friendly days (Chinese New Year, Valentines Day and Family day - only in Canada).  I guess you are wondering why the title is Friendly February.  Well to start we have had a few get together with friends. We celebrated Chinese New year, had a couples get together for Valentines and most recently we had a Mexican night with a couple since it was a long weekend (Family Day). In addition to this, I had a chance to reconnect with some long time friend and relative.  Reminiscing about all the good time and sad times was a bit nostalgic.  I had a chance to chat on the phone to a friend aka distant relative through marriage, but basically and x cousin in law. Anyway, it was weird that we could just chat about the past and it seems like old times. I think the last time I spoke to him was sometime in the mid 80's. In addition to this one, I also had a chance to chat with my childhood friend before he his travel back to the home country to visit relatives and friends while he still can enjoy it.  But enough of these words so I'll share some of the latest creation (sewing) and new recipes (baking) I have done for the couple of months.

Juggle January

Welcome 2024, the year of the dragon and I am calling it the year of the juggle. You probably wondering why I am labelling it with the word JUGGLE.  Well, it was one of those mornings when I decided to do a post and what is a word that begins with J. The first word that came to mind was juggle.  So whether it is appropriate or not, to me it feels like this will be the year of juggling.  What am I juggling with or juggling for?  First I will start with my volunteering.  Before the end of last year I decided to resign from one of the agency that I was involved.  Reason - the person who is in-charge was not nice and instead of confronting her and leave with a sour note, I just decided to keep it to myself and just resign. I juggled with that for a few months and then one day, it was time to quit. As my hubby would say, "if you are not enjoying the volunteer work, then it is not meant to be. It's volunteer work so one should not continue if it only causes stress". And he was right.  Now that I have finished juggling with the volunteering, I will tackle the juggling of the several projects that I have started.  My lists starts from sewing, crocheting, embroidering, painting, card making and finally blogging. I actually don't have any problem prioritizing these hobbies. Enough words, here are some photos I am sharing to begin this year. Thanks for stopping by and hopefully you will come back again.
