Merry Monday - Christmas favorites

Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Maligayang Pasko, and however you want to wish your family and friends everywhere, it is all up to you, as long as it comes from the heart. Right.  This post won't have anything sad, just great memories of happy times around the holidays.  So I did a little bit of looking through old photos. That's what I want to share today.  May your home be filled with wonderful and happy memories of Christmas day.

My daughter at 2 years wearing the parka I made for her.
Last Christmas together with my parents and my children - 1983?

Only photo I could find of me and my son - Christmas - 1990?

He never really played hockey - who knows?

I believe this was taken around Christmas because we always go to our grandparent's home-1953?

My first Christmas with Jeff - in Texas??
Our last Christmas in San Jose home - the merriest ever.

Merry Monday - Just because

Last week we decided to just get a fake tree because we cannot decide between real tree or fake tree.  We went out and bought one with lights already attached to the tree.  I wanted to have our home decorated since we can only have it for a month. Aside from the polar bear blow-up, I could not resist getting a Kevin blow up as well to keep the bear company.  By the end of the day, the decorations were complete.  Now the home is merry and bright. I almost forgot, I had to make a new skirt for the tree, some Christmas place mats and a couple of hand warmers for those cold nights. Enough writing, just check out the pictures.

As you can see, only one Christmas card so far.

Made from scraps of quilted fabrics, I filled it with rice.  It's microwaveable.

Therapeutic Thursday - What makes the list

Having a beneficial effect on the body and mind.  This is the definition of therapeutic that is applicable to this post.  Some uses a type of over the counter drug, some drink a specific combination of liquids, others resort to the non medicinal or non consumable cure.  That's for me.  Using some other form of pain reliever or some form of distraction.  So what makes the list of therapeutic things that helps my body and mind.  Let me just repeat it, this is my list and it works most of the time.  By the way it's also not a list of remedies, it's just a list that is therapeutic also known as something that feels good for the body or mind.
  • Listening to music
  • Playing an instrument, guitar or keyboard
  • Sewing and creating new projects
  • Painting or drawing
  • Scrap booking or card making
  • Crocheting or embrodery
  • Dancing and singing
  • One hour massage
  • Golf (including watching on TV)
  • Reading a good book
  • Writing to family and friends - either snail mail or email
  • Baking and cooking
  • Manicure and pedicure (I do it myself)
  • Playing tennis or squash
  • Shooting pool (billiards)
  • Blogging and writing poems
  • Ironing (yes, you read it right)
You are probably wondering why walking is not on my list.  Actually it is therapeutic also but only if I am walking at a golf course and actually playing.  Now that you've read this post, what's on your list?
