As most of you know, I am not good at baking cookies, but I love trying out new recipe specially those one that starts with use a cake mix box. I have tried at least three different recipe and they all came out perfect. The first one I tried using the Yellow Cake Mix and just adding butter, nuts and chocolate chips. The second one I tried using the Dark Chocolate Mix and making them into brownies. The third and most recent one is the Red Velvet Cake Mix which turned into a RVC Crinkle cookies. It was easy to make and the result is crispy on the outside and moist in the inside. The fourth one is not from a cake mix but a recipe I found from Pinterest called chocolate chips cookie bar. Again, easy recipe to follow and so yummy. BTW being a diabetic, I am always trying to find new recipe that has less sugar or where I can adjust the recipe without ruining the results. So far I have made a lot of stuff by using half of the sugar the recipe calls for without any issue. Even though I don't like baking cookies and prefers making bars or other quick breads or cake, I now have a few favorites which also includes some pies.

Tasty Treat Tuesday - It takes two to tango
I am sorry to disappoint you if you think after reading this that Jeff and I have started learning how to dance the Tango or have taken ballroom dancing. I am just trying to say that when it comes to baking cookies, I prefer to bake with Jeff as my assistant or maybe even reverse the role. This past weekend we tried a new recipe for a soft cookie. It's very healthy because it uses oats. The recipe is from Giada and it's called Cranberry Oats cookies.
Aside from oats, it has cranberry, pecan and white chocolate chips. Although Jeff prefers his favorite chocolate chip cookies made by my MIL, he does not mind helping me bake cookies.
I like them soft so he knows exactly when to take them out of the oven. He also does a great job lining them on the cookie sheet using an ice cream scooper. Whenever we pick a day to do some baking, we try to have at least two different treats. The other favorite is called the Apple Bar cookie. This is the second time we are using this recipe because we both love it. Now let me share the photo so you can get motivated to bake some treats for yourself. These recipes (food network) are both so easy but oooh so yummy.

Sweet Saturday - New Oreo's
When I saw these three new kinds of OREO's, I immediately took photos of them because I am sure my daughter would love to try one or all three.
I wonder how long it will take for my daughter to notice this and tell me which one she would like to try. Since she will be visiting next month, I will probably get some a week before she arrives so she can try it right away.
