Wonderful Wednesday - my 3 day birthday celebration

As the saying goes, it's better late than never.  I did promise to provide details on how I celebrated my before birthday, day of birthday and after birthday.  There's a a lot of photos to share but I will just pick a few.

Before birthday - we started our day with breakfast at a small cafe in downtown Saratoga.  Then we walked around and ended at the Preston Wynn Spa for our appointment for our one hour massage.  It was very relaxing and a nice treat.  We had lunch at the same cafe where we went for breakfast because their food was great.

My breakfast croissant with egg, cheese and bacon
After lunch, we decided to do a little shopping.  We stopped by at Carter's and Ross.  I was able to buy a few items for the children of friends and family.  While at Ross, I found the purse and hat that I wanted for my birthday present.
Pink golf hat with my new ball marker (lady bug) and new pink purse
For dinner we decided to go to Ariake Sushi because it was close to our home and we were getting hungry. They have a little birthday treat where they play their drums and sing and they make the celebrant stand on a chair and drink SAKI in 3 different cups.  I didn't want the attention so I opted to have just a photo.  So they gave me the photo and the frame.

Day of my Birthday, we had breakfast at home, I actually cooked.  French toast and turkey bacon.  I got birthday wishes by email, telephone and cards by snail mail.  We packed our overnight bag and started heading to the Gold Country Casino and hotel located north of Sacramento, CA.  The deal was called a May Fling which includes the room, $50 off their Steakhouse Restaurant, a 45 minute massage for a couple, $50 free slot play, and two free bowling game.
Elk medallions with blackberry bourguinion sauce, mashed sweet potato and steam veggies
After birthday - we got up around 830 am, had breakfast and gambled for about half an hour and then checked out.  It was a sunny day but a little too windy.  We arrived at the golf course and was able to start a little early.  The golfers are friendly and the course is forgiving but boy was it ever windy.

By the 15th hole we both started feeling very hungry and since it started getting windier and their grill closed at 3 pm, we headed into their small town to search for a place to have a late lunch.  It was called Cassidy's Family restaurant and had the best Country Fried Steak.  But the most interesting part of this place is the sign on their front door.
It was very different from having a big birthday party with lots of friends having a great time.  I guess I am getting older and enjoy a more intimate and quiet celebration.
