Magical Monday - Happy St. Patrick's Day

Are you ready to start drinking?  Did you make your corned beef and cabbage?  Were you able to attend the parade?  Since it is a work day for Jeff we are not doing any of these but we will definitely try to do something Irish.  If I remember it correctly, I only have tried green beer once but I prefer the regular type of Irish beer.  For breakfast we can add a little Bailey's to our coffee - that's Irish, right?  My MIL is making corned beef and cabbage, serving Irish beer and Irish whiskey.  I'm not sure what she will serve for dessert but  I'm sure it will be something green.  However you choose to celebrate today, just remember to be safe.  As the Irish saying goes:

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been, the foresight to know where you are going, and the insight to know when you have gone too far.

Spry Sunday - That's me

From now on when someone ask how I would describe myself, I would use this word - SPRY.
When checking the exact meaning, I realized it was describing me.  Active, lively, energetic, agile, nimble, spirited, vivacious and more.  When my BFFs were visiting we did a lot and even though they were a lot younger than me, I felt pretty good about keeping up with the schedule except for the drinking part.  We went out dancing, played golf, walked a lot, and even got a chance to do Just Dance 3.   Being retired I have a lot of time to do so many things and I really try to keep busy and do a bit of exercise.  Although I don't spend a lot of hours at a gym, I know that for my age I am still doing just fine.  My friend aka brother should be how to use the resistance tube to do some muscle toning and strengthening.  Now that the weather is getting warmer and the days longer, Jeff and I can play tennis again which is a great workout for us.

Definitely not part of my workout.

Special Saturday - Favorite beverages

Sometimes one needs to accept the reality of getting older.  During the recent visit of my BFF's, I realized that I cannot have more than one drink.  So the best way to deal with this is pick the best drink on the list or just have your favorite drink.  It does not have to be an expensive one, it could be as simple as a special beer or specific one or a one of a kind tequila.  Here's a few of my favorites and a new one that I recently tasted at a friends house.

Spicy Caesar - Rose made her own version at home - it was awesome. No comparison to Bloody Mary.
It's not exactly the same tequila as the one from Mexico - hopefully this one taste better.
One of this was enough to get me happy and hammered.  I did not realized the bartender made it double.

Truthful Thursday - It's back to normal

It has been one awesome week with my BFF's and that's the excuse for not blogging.  They were here for 6 full days and I really did not have time to sit down and write a post.  Some of my readers were aware who my BFF's are and they knew what it's like to party with them. They left yesterday the beautiful sunny San Jose and arrive at their homes with a lot of snow.  Here's the comparison.

At the golf course with some of the deers.

His brother's car is buried in the snow.
This is all for now, I have to get my photos and stories organized.  Like any B&B, now I have to get the housekeeping done and get back to our normal life.  We had such a great time with my BFF and instead of being sad, they told me to remember the fun and laughter we had.  In the meantime, they have to return to their normal life and lose some weight before coming back.

Last day get snack and beverages at California Pizza (outdoor seating)

Truthful Thursday - Having too much fun!

It's not that I don't have anything to blog today, it's just that my friends and I are just having a great time visiting and I don't want to miss a thang (yes that is a song - aerosmith).  So if you don't see any new post, it just means we are still having fun and I'll probably do a post when they start to get boring (I kinda doubt it).  Whatever you are doing today, enjoy the company - whoever they might be.  Enjoy the day, even if it's snowing or raining.  Have a great weekend to all and start your own March Madness.

Woo Hoo Wednesday - No more sleep

Finally, no more counting sleeps.  My two BFFs will be arriving tonight.  Yesterday I talk to both of them to give my last minute reminders and requests.  It was so good to hear them saying "see you tomorrow night".  The guest rooms are ready, the fridge is well stocked and the schedules are starting to get full.  Aside from listening to a live band, watching the Sharks, maybe shooting some pool (we all have our own pool cue and trophy - LOL), if the weather permits maybe playing tennis and of course doing some day trips.  I will be doing some home cooking but we will also be eating out to check out some restaurants that interest them.  And if we will be doing some eating and drinking, Rose mentions that we need to do some exercise.  Can she get me started on walking around the block?  I suggested we just do JUST DANCE3 on Wii or even do my own mini Olympic (Wii) - bowling, tennis, baseball or even golf.  Speaking of golf, we also need to at least do one round and even drag Percy to come along.  As for the weather, I really hope it holds up and have more sunny days than clouds or shower. I am guessing that they would be doing a little shopping which we can do when it's not sunny.  Check out the sample menu for breakfast.

I just realized that the three of us are at a different age brackets (40's, 50's, and 60's).  The question is, can we still party like it's 1999?  Here's our playlist.
  •  Gypsy King Medley
  • Tainted Love
  • Where do we go
  • Don't stop believing
  • Love Shack
  • Livin' On a prayer
  • Don't forget me
  • I gotta feeling
  • I will survive
  • Money for Nothing
  • No Woman No cry

Shared Sunday - Friends that stay together

Three more sleeps.  That's right, my friends are going to be here soon and we are all excited.
For Rose, it will be her first time at our CPBB while Percy will be his second time.  I have not seen them for three years and it will be an awesome time when they get here.  As for the weather, I just hope that it will stay warm and sunny with blue skies.  But since they are coming from the great white north, our weather will still be nice and toasty warm for them.
They will just be so happy not to see SNOW.  I have been checking the weather forecast for this coming week and it was looking really good.  Hopefully it will stay at least sunny for the four days, cloudy for two and shower for one.  There's a quote that is written on a small piece of wall hanging that Percy gave me as a moving away present.

You will always be my friend, you know too much!

To Rose and Percy, have a safe travel and I can't hardly wait to have you around.  We are going to have some good clean fun and reminisce old times when we use to be young.
