Truthful Thursday - to have a party or not

Only 9 more days before my birthday and I am still debating whether to have a party or not.  I was so into it and can even show you the invitation I made. 

But the truth is, I think I would rather just go away for the weekend with Jeff.  Maybe go to a casino, play a round of golf somewhere in the country or just go to a nice dinner. My niece and I will be spending a day starting with a brunch and then a couple of hours at the SPA.  I guess I am getting older or as my brother (PJD) would say, "you are not getting older, you are OLD. Maybe because the party won't be the same without my friends both young and old who are all back in Canada.

For some people, they don't even want anyone to know when their birthdays are because they don't want any fuss, party, gifts, etc.  Truthfully when it comes to birthdays, I am like a kid. I want the new dress, the party, the fun, the games and maybe even a Pinata!!!  I remember all the special birthday parties that I've had (7, 21, 30, 35, 40, 45, 49 -practice party for the next year- 50, 55).  While writing this blog, I made a decision that I will just continue to only celebrate the important years.  I guess now I have a lot of time to plan the next big one which will be in another couple of years.

The real truth is that the cold or flu or whatever I got is still lingering and I really hope to be better by tomorrow.  Jeff's sister and hubby are visiting for a couple of days.
