There is something so special and so rewarding about volunteering your time. It has been 8 months since I started giving a couple of hours of my time to the community. The sad part is that there is a chance that it will end soon and we have to find another center, organization or venue. Last Monday we celebrated a belated mother's day for the women that joins our lunch program.

Our supervisor always brings some beautiful flowers from her garden. It really adds a special touch to their dining experience. The only sad part last Monday was that one of the senior passed away and he sits on this same table every day. He was 96 yrs old. The most interesting about this man was his occupation before he retired. He was a chick sexer.

I have really enjoyed helping out at this Center as well as the other volunteers that I have met. One of the ladies that volunteer with us on Monday took us shopping last Monday. We had so much fun helping her find a couple of new dress for to wear on Mother's day. We plan to have lunch one day at this fast food place called Wienerschnitzel and after shop in Gilroy Outlet. This might be our get together prior to our last day at the center, that is if the Center closes at the end of July.
