Methodically Monday - Mastering the USCIS test

In a few more days I will be attending the interview/test for my US citizenship application.  It's hard to believe that the process seems to be moving along faster than I thought it would be.  Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining since I only submitted it sometime in April.  So now what.  I have been studying the 100 questions and I think I am comfortable with all the correct answer.  According to their website, applicants will be asked 10 out of the 100 and you will have to get 6 correct in order to pass.  But that is not the only test.  Everyone will have to be tested on their reading, writing and speaking ability.  Jeff doesn't think I will have an issue with that.  So here's one question that I have to make sure I get the right answer. Why do you want to become an American citizen? The correct answer is - in order to vote in the federal election.  What if they ask me if there are additional reason why?  I will have to provide something short and true.  For some reason whatever I wrote yesterday did not get saved so I won't even bother to rewrite.  Next week I will update everyone on the result of my interview.  Wish me luck and I truly hope all goes well. Maybe Monday - Just in Case

Since this post was done prior to the end of the men's US Open Final, I don't know who will be the winner but it seems like it's a Murray maybe.  I guess he's been playing well otherwise he would have not reached the Finals.  During the Olympic he won the gold but I think Federer did not play his best because he wants to give Murray the chance to win the Gold as it was very important to him since he was playing at his home turf.  Just my view.

Magnificent Monday - and the winner is

The counter hit 7777 last night and the judges took their time reading the answers and awarding points fairly to each entry.  After all the answers were read and marked, it is my pleasure to announce the winner of my 7777 contest who received the highest marks.  There were two entries with similar marks and another two that were lower and one with just one point over the two same high marks.  The process took a little over an hour as the judges listened carefully to all the answers.

Truthful Thursday - I am so excited x 2

The counter is getting very close to 7777.  Unfortunately I only have received 5 entries which is too bad, but on the other hand, it will be a lot easier to mark.  I am also thinking that since there are only 5 entries, I might just decide and have one winner and four runner up.  The truth is, it's my contest on my blog and I can technically do what ever I want.  For those of you who responded to my 7777 contest, thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog and submitting answers to the seven questions. Hopefully the counter will hit 7777 by the end of this week so the judges can mark the entries and I can announce the winner by Sunday or Monday at the latest.  Good luck to all and if you are still contemplating on entering, you have at least another day or two.  


What else I am so excited about are the baby slippers that I have started making.  Yesterday was my second day of the marathon and it is very addictive.  Once I am doing the final zigzag, I get truly excited turning the slippers to see what the finish product looks.  As soon as I finish it, I immediately take a photo and send it to my daughter for her comment.  So here's what I have done since yesterday's post.

Truthful Thursday - Just a little sad

There's a few more days to spend with my daughter but I am already getting just a tad sad because she will be going home in a few days.  Instead of getting sad I will try and have as many special moments with her even if it's only sitting in our living room talking or in the kitchen when I am making our meals or doing our dishes.  Our home has been filled with so much laughter and happiness since they have arrived.  My daughter and her husband as so animated and so funny that we seem to be laughing all the time.  Unfortunately my husband had to return work yesterday so he can only hang out with us after work and this coming weekend.  We have had a busy week and each day we don't sleep until very late and of course we don't get up early either.  I know things will be so different once they leave but we are very happy that they were able to stay with us during their visit.  Last night Dan (Jeff's son) and his family were over for dinner and Gamble had so much fun playing with Mike (my favorite SIL) and did not want to leave.  But I told him that he can do a sleepover this Friday and he was fine with it.  What is funny was that Mike ended up going to bed early as he got tired after playing with Gamble.  We are looking forward to Gamble sleeping over because he has missed a couple of weekends due to our renovations and other conflicting schedules.  I have missed a couple of days posting because of my daughter's visit and almost forgot posting the sixth question.
