Wishful Wednesday - Sometimes only

There are times in our lives when you would just wish certain things and hope that it goes away.  Lately I have been dealing with certain issues of life and so here's some of my wishes.
  • I wish that some people would just be a little less mean specially when I have not done anything to them.
  • I wish that some people would leave me alone and let me enjoy my retirement.
  • I wish that some people would understand that everyone should be responsible for their own life or actions.
  • I wish that some people would just forgive and forget and move on with life.
  • I wish that some people would just try and enjoy their life and stop blaming others for where they are sad or unhappy.
  • I wish that some people would appreciate what their family or friends do for them.
Last night Jeff and I decided to change our greeting message on our home telephone.  In case you don't use our home phone to call us, I thought I would share the message I recorded.
  • If you are selling something, we don't want it.  If we did not answer, we must be enjoying life, but please leave a happy message.
According to my SIL: " You deserve to be happy and do what you please. You've paid your dues. You deserve to be happy and not have your actions questioned at this point in your life".  That is why is my favorite!!!

Fourth Friday - Four years ago

There is nothing I can do about what happened four years ago.  Today I will just share a poem I wrote as it tells how I truly feel.  Someone told me once that I should try and think of this as a puzzle that might never be solved and suggested that I should try and just surrender.

Gino, my sister, me and the BOYZ (Ryan, Anjay and Brian)
This photo was taken at my daughter's wedding in 2006.  As you can see everyone is smiling as this was one of the happiest vacation that all of us took.  All our family and both my daughter's and Gino's best friends were there.  We will always remember this as our happy times with my son.

Even though our lives have change since you have been gone, our love for you remains.

Truthful Thursday - Forgive and forget

FORGIVE-to excuse for a fault or an offence; to begin letting go of anger, hurt or resentment.
FORGET-to banish from one's thoughts; to cease remembering.
Which of these two can you easily do?  Which is harder to do? Do they go hand in hand? Why am I going here, you might ask.  Well, it is fitting with my theme on Thursday, being truthful.  An incident happened a few years ago when I was so upset, angry and hurt and I said these exact words: if she thinks I will forgive and forget, she is very wrong because I will take this to my grave. Wow, now that I am writing this, that is so strong and so definite.  For those of you who are my friends, you know that I am not a mean person.  A few months later, something else in life happened, then you wonder maybe because you said those words, now I am being punished. So we are back to the famous quote: LIFE IS TOO SHORT.  I guess since this is the year of the bunny, who is the kindest animal in the zodiac, it's the year for me to forgive and forget. A year to be kind, to forgive the people who hurt me really bad, to forget those incidents, and start really enjoying life without those grudges, anger and resentment.
