Delightful December

What am I delighted about? I am very pleased is that when I found out that I have not posted anything since September on my blog, I quickly posted one for each of the month of October and November. I was delighted that I was able to come up with something that might be interesting but also meaningful.  Now that it is December and to most it is the most wonderful time of the year, I would like to just to a recap of my favorites of 2023.  Instead of writing more words, I opted to just post some very interesting picture that I thought you  might enjoy. Nummy November

The very first time I hear this word was from one of our friends. She was describing one of my latest dessert creation.  Sometimes she would use it also to describe the meals that I prepared when they come over for dinner.  Most of the people I know would say Yummy or delicious, but she is the only friend of mine that uses Nummy.  So this month I would like to post as much Nummy treats that I have made this year.  You might see some repeats but since it is just so nummy I was hoping you wouldn't mind seeing them again.  Please send me a quick message as to which treat is your favorite.

Raspberry macarons

Pineapple coconut scones

Blueberry Lemon Scones

Leche Flan

Twice baked chocolate croissant

Puff pastry with chocolate filling and almond topping

Mini and regular butter pecan tarts

An assorted tray of nummy

Brownie with cookies and cream topping

Obituary October

You are probably wondering why I am using this word for this month. Do you ever wonder sometimes whatever happen to someone that you knew? Do you wonder where they might be at this point of their lives? Do you try to Google them? Are you hoping to find something?  Well, I was actually really surprised what you can find. Maybe because I don't do this a lot.  What is really sad is that the three people that I knew in the past where actually have all been deceased.  It is very sad when you do find out and as you read their obituary and realized how and when, this is that part when you think of your own immortality.  So this month, I would just like to pause for a moment and honor those people, actually they were all friends of mine from when I use to live in Whitehorse.

Simply September

What happens when you see all the leaves turning different shades of brown, orange and green?  Is is considered Fall or just the beginning? This morning we went for our normal walk around the neighborhood and I took some photos of flowers that are still in bloom.  It is the middle of the month and I am just happy to be able to share the simple things in life that I still enjoy and/or love to do.  This months post is just a combination of everything. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I saw them, work on them and completed them.  Thank you for stopping by and I do hope that you continue on checking my blog for my monthly post.

My most favorite treat - Almond Croissant

My neighbor left me a jug of milk and I use it for this FLAN.

If you are ever at Superstore - you should try this version.

A new blanket for my favorite dog Stanley.

Recent cards from the Card Making Event.

Just in time for Thanksgiving.

An eye heat or cold pad - for those tired eyes.

Abloom August - Flowers make me happy

Although one can say that the season for flowers blooming are over, I still have most of the ones I planted at the beginning of summer.  One of the last one to bloom is my one and only LILY.  I really can't tell you what are the names of the flowers that I bought this year.  To me, it's all about the colors and how pretty they would look together or on their own.  A few years ago, one of my best friend from Ontario explained to me how I should plant my annuals.  She told me the 3 most important thing to consider when buying the flowers that will eventually go in my big pots.  The 3 words to remember- THRILLER, SPILLER and FILLER.  I am sure you have heard about it, but I didn't.  So after that lesson, every year I would remember these 3 words and my annual plants/flowers have been wonderful.  This post is all about flowers. I hope that sharing these pictures makes you happy the way these flowers makes me happy.

This year's Iris bloom

I took a photo of someone's Iris

My friend Nathalie gave me this for my birthday.

I took this on the side of the golf course.

During our road trip to Lake Country, I took this photo.

This was one of my plants that I didn't even know had flowers.

My neighbor gave me these "Impatience" because I am very patient.

I added these 3 in June but it's a bit boring.

These were much better looking last month.

The one and only LILY plant that blooms every July.

This one was a real survivor. The pot flooded during a downpour.

Jaguar or Jeep - July Classic Car Show

Last Sunday was the last day of the Classic Car Show in Vernon, BC. There were so many cars of different colors, make, year, etc.  One of our friends mentioned about 400 cars were being displayed.  So we thought of checking it out. It was free of course and there were lots of food trucks as well. We didn't check out any as we weren't hungry.  There were too many vehicles to check out. I don't want to keep writing because I want to share all the pictures that I took.  I hope you enjoy them. By the way, I forgot to mention that I have been following the Formula 1 car racing.  Although these are very different from all the vehicles in the car show, I am hooked.

I hope that you enjoyed checking out all these cars/trucks just like I did. It is so amazing how all the owners have kept their classic cars in such great shape.  Would you like to own one of these classic cars?  Are you more interested in the now models of sports cars, trucks or electric ones?
