Tiring Tuesday - Oops I did it again

When I am feeling really good, I sometimes keep going like the Energizer bunny.  Then all of a sudden, I'm tired.  That's when I have to remind myself that I am not that young.  This past weekend we did a lot and it continued until yesterday.  So as Randy Jackson would say,
"yo check this out".  We started our Saturday with a nice breakfast then I did inside house chores and Jeff did outside chores.  After we got ready it was time to enjoy outdoors and check out the A La Carte Arts and Wine Festival in Mountain View.  If you read my post yesterday, I've covered what we did.  Next stop was the Deep Cliff Golf Course where they are having the Hole In One Competition.  We got there a little too early and since they driving range was open to everyone, Jeff and I hit a few balls using a couple of golf clubs from the shop.  It was a bit too long to wait for it to start so we left and drove home.  We took a little break and then had our dinner.  The weather was starting to get a little cool but we already had geared up to play tennis, so we did for about an hour.  There were a few things I needed for my Sunday dinner so we stop by the groceries.  On Sunday I was suppose to do my volunteer but they were not busy at the course, I am guessing Cinco de Mayo.  I am sure you are now guessing what I did instead.  That's right, I golf with Peter who I relieve as a Starter.  After golf I picked up my MIL and she had dinner with us.  Monday morning comes and my tee time was mid morning and off I go again.  I played a total of 27 holes and had a great day and I even saw a bunny, a turtle, two blue jays, two red breasted robin, three ducks and three deer.  When I got home, Jeff still has not had dinner, so without taking a rest, I prepared our dinner.  Now you can understand why I am tired this morning.

Mountain Monday - Arts and Wine Festival

It was the Arts and Wine Festival in Mountain View, CA this past weekend.  We were able to get there last Saturday for a couple of hours.  Since my friend for the golf course was working at one of the booth, we also stop by and check out their display - very colorful classic cars.  I also wanted to make sure that I check out to see if they have the Essense of O (soaps that makes you feel good).  I was able to get my favorites because they do feel great on your skin and they have pretty smell.

Lemongrass, Gardenia, Milk & honey, Lavander
The photos of the cars are not as great because of their location but you can have an idea of what they are if you know your classic cars.

Of course I had to take a photo of the special scrap metal statues that the artists welded together.

Semana Sunday - Cinco de Mayo

Hoy celebramos cinco de Mayo.  Vamos a comer tacos con salsa y beber margarita.  OK that's all I can say.  This past Thursday we went for dinner with one of Jeff's friend and his girlfriend who is from Colombia. I was able to practice a little bit of what I learned from my Spanish class a couple of years ago.  But of course when I can't remember the word, I would just use my translator app on my phone and be able to start a conversation with her.  I know it's cheating but it was fun.  We were suppose to try and teach her English instead of us trying to speak in Spanish.  Today there are going to be a lot of different celebrations around the bay areaFor us it will be just having dinner at home with Jeff and my MILBut we are sort of having our own celebration by having Mexican theme for dinner.  If you understood the first part of my post then you know that we will be having tacos (pork) with my home made salsa, mexican rice, refried beans, tortilla chips and frozen margarita.  For dessert, it is a bit boring - watermelon - but it fits the color of today's celebration - red, white and green.

Sunshine Saturday - So happy to reconnect

It's such a great feeling when you get a message from a long distance friend who I met about five years ago on one of my flights to visit Jeff.  Her name is Susan and we've kept in touch all those years.  She now resides in Houston and it was so good to hear from her and that she's doing very well.  Maybe one day she will get a chance to meet JeffThere were a couple of instances but it seems like they are just missing each other in Toronto.  When she was temporarily residing in Boca Raton, my other BFF and I got a chance to spend a few days with her and she was such a gracious hostIt was one of those really girls weekend.  She took us to some fancy places and we had a great time shopping, dining, dancing, even watch a movie in this really special theater.  I know that when we get together, it will be like old times.  It is amazing how a friendship starts and continues even when we are miles apart.  I found a couple of photos which was taken during one of her visits in Toronto.

Friends Friday - Is it meant to be?

Do you believe in numbers?  Does it really mean anything?  Do you think that there are things in life that are meant to be.  Recently I have noticed that three of my girlfriends here in our area have something that is relevant to me.  Every one of them owns a car and their license plate have some numbers that is part of me.  I usually don't pay attention to this until the other day when I was trying to check if the girlfriend I am meeting for lunch has arrived.  That's when I saw it and after lunch I pointed it out to herDo you have anything similar happened in your life?  By the way, their birthdays are also very close to mine.  Somehow I believe that we all got connected through the energy of numbers.  Hmmmm!

Truthful Thursday - Tumbleweed

The first of May arrived yesterday and with it arrived something that I have been wanting for a while.  Not really sure why I like it.  I guess I think it's kind funny that it just get blown by the wind and it is so carefree and never know where it ends.  Sometimes when Jeff and I are on our short trips on some country roads and small towns,  I would see them TUMBLEWEEDS on the side of the road and I would ask Jeff if we can pick it up and take it home.  We would laugh about it and he is still wondering why I am so interested in it.  Yesterday we played tennis at this secret court that we found and lo and behold, there was a big tumble weed right near the door of the tennis court.  After playing, I asked Jeff if we can take a picture at first, and then I asked if we could take it home.  He tried to shove it in the back of his car and it was not going in.  He ended up using our tennis racquets to push it in because there were some tiny thorns that was poking his finger.  It was very funny sight having the tumbleweed at the back as we drove home.  Now that tumbleweed has a new home in our backyard and I finally got my first tumbleweed on the first day of May.  Although I am still not sure what I will do with it, I am very happy just having a perfect one in our backyard.  Check it out.

It does not really take much to keep me happy and Jeff knows it and just goes along with it.

Warm Wednesday - And it's not even summer yet?

Last Monday was suppose to be the hottest day of the week.  It was not just a warm day at the golf course, it was a little too warm or should I say it was hot.  If I am not mistaken it was at least 93 F or 32 C.  At first I was surprised that there were not a lot of golfers and as we finished the 9th hole, there were even less golfers.  By the end of the 18th hole, we were all ready to go home and just cool off.  Before heading home, I stopped by the snack shop and drank two big cups of ice cold water.  This week will still be warm but will cool off towards the end of the week.  Our weather forecast for the first part of May.
